Clay Canvases

I found the cost of framing my paintings to be unfeasible and came up with the novel concept of Clay Canvases. I take a chunk of clay and create a frame through shaping and carving. Then leaving the center bare to be painted, I glaze the frame and set in my kiln for multiple firings. This concept merges my two favorite mediums: clay & paint to create a framed work of art in one piece.
